| ABOUT US |
We have a small kennel in the county of Somerset, Aquasulis is the name of the city of Bath. Our family have owned Great Danes for nearly 30 years. We didn't show back then because I was showing American Quarter Horses and my Mother was showing her goats. I grew up with my Fathers dog which was a German Shepherd from Avon & Somerset Police´, this started my passion for dogs. My younger Brother decided that he wanted a Tiger & the nearest thing my parents could find was a brindle Great Dane called Gladshein Achilles 'Duke'. We started to show only at Open shows in1978. Due to school exams I stopped but came back to showing in the 90's with Nallac Big & Bold 'Ben' Fawn -sire CH Yacanto Top Gun X Drumview Treasure Trove (litter sister to CH Drumview Trade Secret). We had a little sucess with him he was runner up in the fawn colours for the League Finals 1996/1997. We gave a home to Cenninpedr Eastern Promise of Aquasulis 'Dotty', she was our first harly. Sire Helmlake Waldemar X Jengren The Sphinx. She was lovely marked but didn't like the show ring so she stayed at home helping my father in the veggie garden We then lost Ben with the dredded bloat in Nov 97 we waited a few months and bought our first show girl Ladymere Red Hot of Aquasulis 'Amber'- Sire CH Janriche Superheat X Ladymere Cherokee Squaw. This young lady certanly kept us on our toes I had never seen a dog eat the way she did it didn't touch the sides and she ended up with the nicknames of Gutsy Gob and Teflon Stomach this she has passed on to her pups. Now at the age of 6 1/2 she can show the youngsters a thing or two. She was constantly placed at Champ and Open shows and won the title of GREAT DANE PUP of THE YEAR 1997 under Glyn Payne, Daphne Sheldon, Marie Bell. She won numerous Best of Breeds and Group placings at Open show level and was in many a line up at Champ show level. A couple of years later we looked for a male something with size and substance behind him and along came Mapla The Power & The Glory of Aquasulis J.W. 'Max'- Sire CH Malpa Mighty Quinn X Malpa My Kind of Girl. Constantly placed at Champ shows and open shows he collected his Junior Warrent at the tender age of 16 months and was Reserve Best Puppy in Show at Dane of the Year under Marie Stevens and Dave Robinson. We put these two together and produced our first litter 1 bitch and 5 dogs we kept Aquasulis Necessitas 'Elsa'. This bitch will be three on the 1st August 2004 she has been constanly placed at Champ shows and won her 1st CC at the East of England Great Dane Club under breed speciallist Rick Day of Janriche Great Danes. We also kept Aesculapius 'Remus', the kissy monster . This young man has the most wonderful nature he is now maturing into a powerfully built Great Dane. He has the most beautiful flowing movement a Dane should have and again constantly placed at Champ shows. He has his stud number and won the Beta Puppy Stakes for working and pastoral breeds under Mike Stockman (now retired President of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons). We have Two new babies a repeat mating of the first litter Aquasulis Minerva and Aquasulis Flora these will start there showing in the summer 2004. Our aim is to occasionally breed only something when we want to carry on our lines, in 30 years of owning this wonderful breed 12 of these showing we have only bred 2 litters our third hopefully will be in early 2005. Our pedigree are made up of mostly English shock with a little German and Swedish thrown in for good measure. We have sound temperments and construction and sound movement which we hope to continue with this very small kennel of AQUASULIS. We own all five colours in Great Danes. Enjoy surfing our pages.
